The walking tour begins at the Obelisk on Slottsbacken, where Stockholm's political, religious and historical layers meet in one place. From Slottsbacken, you move into Gamla Stan's medieval street network. The narrow alleys and irregular blocks provide a concrete picture of how the city was organized and how movement, trade and power guided the city plan.
